Stellenbosch Vineyards makes the ABSA Top 10 Pinotage List

Stellenbosch Vineyards is proud to announce its signature Bushvine Pinotage 2015 has been selected as one of South Africa’s best Pinotage wines at the 21st annual ABSA Top 10 Pinotage Competition.

This is the first ABSA Top 10 Pinotage award for the dynamic winemaking duo of Stellenbosch Vineyards, Abraham De Villiers and Bernard Claassen, as they are pleased to be acknowledged for their perseverance, courage and passion. “It’s a great honour to receive this award. It has been an aspiration of ours to be selected as one of the ABSA Top 10 Pinotage wines and a great feeling to have the hard work we’ve put into this wine receive such an incredible achievement. A big thank you to the Pinotage Association and its partners for the opportunity to be part of this competition. We’ll take this gratifying experience with us as we continue our efforts to illustrate the uniqueness of this distinctive South African varietal,” comments winemakers Abraham De Villiers and Bernard Claassen.

Part of the Stellenbosch Vineyards signature range, a superior selection of wines produced from specially selected vineyard blocks in Stellenbosch, the Bushvine Pinotage 2015 perfectly displays the winemakers’ efforts in creating a modern-styled Pinotage with elegance and finesse that bares testament of the area. The specific vineyard block used for the Bushvine Pinotage 2015 was first planted in 1993.

Stellenbosch Vineyards wines are produced on the historic Welmoed Wine Farm in Stellenbosch, which dates back to 1690. The Stellenbosch Vineyards signature range forms part of the Stellenbosch Vineyards Collection of Fine Wines portfolio, which includes The Flagship range, Credo range and Welmoed range.
